A new issue of get lost travel magazine is due out soon, but it almost didn’t make it to print.

Get lost’s Head of Content Carrie Hutchinson said the magazine wouldn’t have been published without funding from JNI.

“There would have been no new issue of get lost travel magazine if we hadn’t had the money to pay five freelancers to creates stories for us, and it would have been the first time in 15 years the magazine hadn’t been published,” she said.

Funding from JNI helped get lost commission writers and a young travel photographer to feature a number of Australian experiences and trips, including hiking the Northern Territory’s Jatbula Trail, learning to fly fish in the Tasmania wilderness, staying on a pearl farm in Western Australia and attending a festival in Alice Springs.

Carrie Hutchinson said some of the writers were full-time travel writers and have had their incomes dramatically reduced since the COVID-19 outbreak.
