With theatres, concert halls and galleries closed as the result of the COVID-19 pandemic, artists have turned online to stay connected with their audiences.

With the support of a grant from JNI, Limelight engaged three writers to highlight the best content available online for classical music, musical theatre, dance, visual arts, opera, film and TV.

Writers Nick Gordon, Deborah Jones and Lynden Barber provided background information and critical insights for each piece.

Deborah Jones said: “The wider circumstance of theatre closures around the world meant arts organisations needed to connect with audiences digitally.

“The Limelight columns helped readers navigate the tsunami of material available and helped keep the companies’ work in the public eye.”
