SAWeekend sharing stories of inspiration South Australians

The SAWeekend magazine is distributed with The Advertiser every Saturday.

With the support of a grant from JNI, SAWeekend produced three articles articles that took an in-depth look at important issues, people and events in South Australia.

SA Weekend Editor Paul Ashenden said: “the grants also provided invaluable income for the freelance journalists contracted to bring the articles together.”

The first article looked at how wineries in the Adelaide Hills were recovering from a series of bushfires in the past few years.

A second piece charted the career of MasterChef star Poh Ling Yeow, from her humble beginnings to being one of the most recognisable faces in the Australian food industry.

The third piece looked at the value of volunteers in South Australia and profiled a series of people who regularly put their lives and careers on hold to support their community.

“Each of these articles received positive feedback from SAWeekend readers, and none would have been possible if not for the support of the Judith Neilson Institute,” Paul Ashenden said.
