The Institute’s grants provide journalists and media organisations with the resources they need to produce quality journalism. We help them cover wide-ranging topics and under-reported issues and enable them to test approaches to reach new audiences.
The Institute’s grants are informed by five principles:
- To create new opportunities for journalists to do more journalism
- To support those projects that will have the greatest impact
- To increase investment in journalism
- To be non-aligned
- To respect the principle of editorial independence
The Institute welcomes unsolicited grant ideas and proposals.
Please note that we will always receive more good ideas than we can support and will not be able to respond to every submission.
