The ABC, in partnership with the Judith Neilson Institute for Journalism & Ideas, recently launched its Regional Schools Ambassadors Program.
This month, journalists from Albany, Karratha, Alice Springs, Dubbo, Longreach, Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Mackay, Cairns and Burnie will deliver workshops in regional and remote class rooms.
The hands-on sessions are designed to help students analyse the news they consume and help them become empowered audiences.
The workshops are tailored to the different regions and draw on the journalists' local knowledge and content.
