Nine more publications have received grants, as a part of the Institute’s initiative to support freelancers and casual contributors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

JNI gives grants to media hit by economic crisis

Grants have been awarded to:

  • Justinian and The Gazette of Law and Journalism
  • The Advertiser
  • The Local in Victoria’s Central Highlands
  • InQueensland
  • Crikey
  • Croakey
  • Limelight Magazine
  • The Courier Mail

You can find the full list of grant recipients here.

The grants are used in a variety of ways, including commissioning specific articles and engaging freelancers to provide editorial support to newsrooms.

The Institute will continue to award grants on a rolling basis.
