Inside Story is a Melbourne-based publication that features news, commentary and reviews from leading writers and researchers.
It is an independent source of considered writing on current affairs and culture from Australia and around the world.
JNI’s support of Inside Story reflects the importance the Institute places on strengthening media diversity in Australia, by helping independent media organisations to thrive and by encouraging the broadest possible range of authors and opinions in the media.
Earlier this year, JNI provided Inside Story with funding for long-form articles, as part of its support for freelancers during COVID-19.
The reporting covered communications during the pandemic, secrecy during the crisis, and the health effects of the 2019–20 bushfires.
